These research studies are very important because of the fact that this is the only way to find ways for people who are overweight or obese can lose weight. Some studies research drugs, and some study food plans. A few analyze exercise.

So what are the advantages of participating in a study?

1. You get paid. These studies may pay anywhere from $100 to $5,000.

2. You often get free food. Often, many of these studies provide free food on a regular basis, if the research is related to types of foods and weight loss.

3. You get free blood tests. These studies check your blood with a basic metabolic panel or a complete blood count.

4. Dietary counseling is also often included.

5. You are providing a public benefit. By participating, you help researchers determine ways for other people to lose weight.

6. And most important of all, you are likely to lose weight.

The way it works is you contact the organization and let them know that you are interested in participating in a study, they will ask you a lot of questions, and will probably give you some blood tests. If you are chosen, they will either put you on a diet or give you pills to take. Every time you go in to the study offices, they will generally pay you, by either a check or debit card.

    1. You need to look for research projects involved in dieting and weight loss. Start with CraigsList to see if there are any research programs looking for subjects. Then do a search on the Internet, for “Volunteers needed for weight loss studies.”

    1. Thanks for your comments. First, I suggest that you check CraigsList for obesity studies. Also do Google searches for weight loss studies in your area. We will try to post more studies when we find them.

I am a 55 year old black female with Graves disease that is in desperate need to lose weight I would like to be part of a study to lose weight because I feel like I am a good candidate I don’t eat alot but I do crave sweets and I’ve cut a lot of bad things out my eating and drinking habits such as pop…..could you please contact me need help my life depends on it….thank you
