Doctor’s have recently been telling their patients that it is OK to have a couple drinks a day, as moderate drinking of alcoholic beverages is associated with health benefits, including less cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and hypertension, according to the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. But in addition, researchers have discovered that drinking booze and actually help you lose weight. Who would have thought that drinking could give you a skinny body?
A study done by Harvard Medical School showed that moderate drinkers have the least amount of weight gain. This research has been supporting this for a while. As a matter of fact, back in 1994, the American Journal of Epidemiology reported that non-drinkers gained more weight than moderate drinkers in a study involving over 7000 people.
Of course, other studies have shown the reverse, that drinking alcohol can cause weight gain, especially excessive drinking. It is recommended that you consult with your doctor about drinking beer, wine, or hard liquor with regards to a weight loss diet.
